Dibbles attach to all bolted together 3, 4, 5, and 6 row Gridder spools. Older welded spools may require grinding of weld material.
Dibbles do not work on 2 row spools or gridder single row. 4 or more row spools get very heavy with dibbles.
Gridder Dibble Handle Extensions are needed for use with a Gridder handle and they are sold separately.
Dibble is 38mm wide by 95mm long
Dibbles do not fit on 2 row spools. Nine dibbles are used for a three row spool.
Gridder Spool Spacing
Below is an example of the 75cm (30″) Bed Two Row Spool Layout (shown in inches)
Plants are 15″ (38cm) from Each Other
Plants all have 15″ (38cm) of Space
Even and straight plantings are more productive and easier to cultivate.
The gridder creates straight, evenly spaced plantings. Each spool is related to the number of rows you intend to mark/plant. The spool will divide the bed evenly by that number of rows. Two row spool – 30” bed /2 rows = 15”. A 2 row spool marks rows 15” apart in the bed. Obviously in-row spacing and row spacing are identical for even plantings.
2 rows on a 75cm bed (75/2=37.5cm) Rows are spaced approx’ 38cm apart.
3 rows on a 75cm bed (75/3=25cm) Rows are spaced 25cm apart.
4 rows on a 75cm bed (75/4=18.75cm) Rows are spaced approx’ 19cm apart
