SCIENTIFIC NAME: Atriplex hortensis
CULTURE: Orach does well in any well-drained garden soil. Tolerant of both hot and cold weather, it is best planted early spring through midsummer. Sow seeds 25-50mm apart, covering 6mm, in rows spaced 45-75cm apart. Thin to 15-25cm apart.
DISEASES AND PESTS: Prevent disease with crop rotation and sanitation.
HARVEST: Pick leaves when plants reach 25mm tall, or more. The plants will continue to produce young, edible leaves.
