Traditional mustard green of Japanese origin. Mizuna produces dozens of pencil-thin white stalks with deeply cut, fringed leaves. Mild flavor. Continues to produce for several weeks from one planting as a “cut and come again” product.

CULTURE: Sow from early spring through midsummer. In the north, greens are well adapted to autumn plantings. For full-sized bunching, sow 15 seeds/30cm, 6mm deep in 50mmwide bands in rows 45cm apart. Most varieties do not require thinning. See individual product descriptions for varieties that do. Harvest before flowering. For baby leaf, sow a 5-10cm wide band at 60 seeds/30cm. Clip young leaves when 75-150mm tall.
PESTS: Flea beetles are best controlled by covering with floating row covers from day of sowing.
